Colored glass filters attenuation properties are based on wavelength-dependent absorption. Therefore these filters are also known as absorption glasses. The in-band transmission and blocking level depends on effective thickness of the filter and does not depend on the angle of incidence. Colored glass filters are an attractive and cost-effective choice for for low-power applications.
